While Chuck blames Justin for last weeks freudian slip, the team regains composure to tackle a hefty agenda. First is MAIL CALL where we dive into the mail bag and read off some listener mail, including that from the UK - who we assure him, he's not alone in his country. On to the news, we talk about the upcoming Waves 1 and 2 of the 30th Annie line, spend some time talking about The Rock, Ninjas and the casting of Lady Jaye (or as Gary said, "eye candy") and wrap it up with a considerable discussion about the latest subscription news from the GI Joe Collectors' Club. This episode was so full of info, instead of super-sizing it for you, we recorded off a Special Edition discussion about the Life and Deth (typo on purpose) of the Pursuit of Cobra which we will post later in the week. So until then, enjoy this regular edition! Greg says you will like it!

Another great podcast guys. Wonderful to hear about the possibilities for the collector club figure subscription. Just to make a quick comment on that I think that maybe they should also think about figures that had small parts but maybe appeared in more then one episode of something. Excluding characters like the for-mentioned( and not gonna happen) Billy , Sgt. Slaughter, and Pythona, it is my hope that possibly we get characters like Col.Sharp, Admiral Ledger, Sparks, or how about the Ninja Force version of Scarlett. I’m in agreement that members of the October Guard might be good too but other figures should come first .

Would the Club really put out City Strike Scarlett? Or would they instead use the tooling for maybe another female figure?
I for one would hope we get some other females before Scarlett. Ex: Muntia, Firewall, Mayday, and Vorona

Sure, why not? I don’t think any tooling is necessary. CS Scarlett is the Reso Scarlett body with movie head sculpt. I think it is completely possible. I can see Munitia this go-around, but I gotta believe the other three you suggested are long shots for 2011. Vorona may be the exception there though.

I just hope the Club goes for other characters before we start seeing Duke, Scarlett, Cobra Commander, Snake-Eyes, etc. I’m not saying all the choices should be obscure Marvel, Devil’s Due, and Sunbow characters, but it would be nice to use something like this to give other characters who might not otherwise get a chance their due.

I remain skeptical of the desire for CS Scarlett…she’s a figure that was essentially released already, in better colors (Resolute Scarlett, as has been mentioned). Why the desire for her?

I have been recently wondering a bit about the potential success of a City Strike Scarlett considering all of her cooler accessories are coming with the Renegades version.
But, hey, the Nano B.A.T. certainly doesn’t have a whole lot of new tooling appeal, so I guess if he makes the cut, CS Scarlett could as well.

I gotta go with what Greg said. I don’t see the appeal of releasing CS Scarlett.
And I’m not too fond of the Nano BAT either. I just hope he’s more the exception then the rule.

OK, if CS Scarlett is not desirable, I CHALLENGE someone to put theirs up for sale on eBay. I’m not offering mine, but I bet I can get double what I paid for it.

Chuck sounds like Corey Feldman and it is sucking for me!!! LMAO!! I hate his rants on classic joe toys!! Please just stop….O-Ring dried out? Comes apart in your hand?
-
Jul 9, 2011 at 12:08 am
I didn’t word that very well. I’m sure there would be enough people who would want her because she falls into the “everything unreleased is awesome!!1!” bucket, but I’d much rather see other figures than her.

@nerdgetchicks Yeah I have a ton of vintage Joes that fell apart in my hand when I went to pick them up. The O-ring fell out in dried pieces from the torso. I don’t hate classic Joe toys but I don’t want to spend $40+ on a figure that will break in two when it hits the air. Is Corey Feldman the one who died last year?
