Its our first CUSTOMIZER SPECIAL! This week we are joined by Richard of Ratfink Customs and John (aka the infamous 'PLuv' and friend of the program), admin of JoeCustoms.com to talk to us about the fine art of Joe customizing. If you are a customizer or any type of artist for that matter, the first hour will be bliss for you. In hour 2 we get down to the latest news of GI Joe 2: Bruce Willis will be Joe Colton, Jonathan Pryce returns as the President of the United States and we find out that Extensive Enterprises will be part of the movie! On the GI Joe Collectors' Club front, finished images of the first two subscription figures are now public - is the fandom liking what it sees and most importantly of all, how many will buy it. Lastly, Chuck gushes like a little girl over getting a free SDCC Skystriker. Believe us, the extra day to edit this is worth the wait! Enjoy!!
Next week, we will shift recording nights to Wednesdays for the next 5 or 6 weeks. In most cases, the show will be posted a day later than normal. Also, Episode 19 will be dedicated to your listener mail, so write or call us with your questions: whatsonjoemind@gmail.com or 262-515-WOJM (9656)!

Hi guys,
Thanks so much for asking your guests my question pertaining to customs, and for mentioning my name on the cast. I’m honored. Plus the info was super helpful and it gave me some insight as to what the process was like to make the Canadian Joecon figures.
I for one can’t wait for the club subscription service even though the Nano-Bat does appear a bit hokey. Like you guys said, have to take the bad with the good. Lets hope they don’t drop to ugly. lol. Quarrel looks sweet though. Now does the club allow for a person to get multiple subscriptions? So I’m also assuming that the wait for the full details is that the club also has to be made aware of what figures are going for the next movie.
Gotta love the train wrecks lol. They make a great show even better.
So going back to the subscription service does anyone have a figure they would like or want to see on the list. I know Fast-Draw was a great idea as mentioned. What would be the most wanted one for you guys?
Can’t wait for the next show. As always it was awesome.

Repeater, Bullhorn, Salvo didn’t make the list, but I would love to see them. Not much for female figures, but Munitia would be worthy. The big cancelled modern era figures such as CS Scarlett, Arctic Duke (both with non-actors heads), Arctic Cobra Commander and training Snake Eyes to name a few. I expect we will hear the full list of 12 soon and then we can begin speculation on #13 and the free club figure. LOL!

I can see CS Scarlett, Arctic Duke… I don’t know( I managed to get one of the actor headed ones from China. Not bad but needed a coat or was that omitted from the design?). I’d love to see Slaughters Renegades since Sarge was released as a SDCC special. Didn’t they mention that more female characters would be involved? Does that mean Bombstrike, or Dina from the Oktober Guard, or are they thinking along the lines of Airborne’s girlfriend Bongo the bear from the ABROC Circus? Perhaps Satin from the Pyramid of Darkness? I supose they could go back and bring out the GIjoe Nurse from the 60’s ( saw the doll in an episode of Pawn Stars)Surely there has to be more interesting figures then some of cancelled Duke , Snake-eyes or Storm Shadow. lol

If the subscription service is going to be heavy on Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes; it’ll be dead in the water.

Chuck, they won’t do Scarlett: female figures don’t sell.

@chuck
Thats something i doubt will happen. If the Club is smart they’ll avoid using characters like Scarlett, SE, Duke, Storm Shadow, & CC and make the focus on figures fans want to see and have little to no chance of getting made if something like the club didn’t exist

I’m hoping that they are not going to bombard the idea with Duke Scarlett and Snake-eyes. Retail sails that Titanic idea already lol. But a few maybe 3 more new female characters would be nice. I mean there are 13 slots( 12 plus mystery) lets see they make the right calls. I’m actually looking forward to Quarrel. Sure tooling is shared with Scarlett but new character.
I think if we see new characters or ones that we as the community thought might or should have been in the line in general instead of multi-versions of one character( like Duke or Snake-eyes as cool as the might be) the subscription service should take off.

The Club has always prided itself on the fact that it doesn’t lean on Duke, Snake Eyes, or other core characters. They leave that up to Hasbro.
In fact, they haven’t done a single Duke or Snake Eyes that I can think of in the nine year history of doing the Exclusives. I highly doubt we’ll see anything change with the subscription service.

@ Justin.
That’s a relief.

The obscure characters, forgotten characters, and weirdo misfit characters are The Club’s bread and butter. It’s been YEARS since they made any main characters for Joe or Cobra.
And I too am pretty sure that they’ve never made Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, or Stormshadow.

Great episode as usual. I hope you can do another “custom” featured episode in the near future! I also wanted to let you know that your fancast is what gets me to and from work every day with a major reduction in road rage, so thank you for making my commute enjoyable!
