Yes it feels like it has been far too long but the boys are back with a brand new episode of your favourite British Action Force podcast. Join Chris, Dave and Eddie for a packed show featuring up-to-date news (HA!), a figure review and a Boss Fight Build of Blades with his Hawk, as well as a lost interview with Paddy Lennon and Brian Hickey of Total Retaliation, the book fame. With Dave and Chris travelling to the US for Joecon this week, we will have way more content coming out over the next few days so sit back, relax and let the dulcet tones of their strange accents lull you into a false sense of security.......FULL FORCE!!!
Erik and Dave from Boss Fight Studios stop by to update us on Vitruvian HACKS, Eagle Force and Caption Action. We also spend an unhealthy but comical amount of time talking about Conference Championship Weekend in the NFL (before the Patriots cheated again), Zorro the Gay Blade and Hall & Oates...yes, you read that right - Hall & Oates. Enjoy!
It was an epic record night as we watched the start of the monumental final 24 hours of the Boss Fight Studio Kickstarter campaign. We also include in this program an interview with GI Joe voice talent, Michael Dobson and get his impressions of JoeCon. Speaking of JoeCon, we are also joined by JoeCon regular Kirk Bozigian as shares some memories of working with the late Don Levine, also known as the father of GI Joe. Lastly, after regular news and mailbag segments, we are surprised by the Boss Fight crew and we get their opinions of what the last 39 days have been like and what is next for Vitruvian HACKS. We hope you enjoy this one! Even Chuck was on his A-game...yeah, we know, its hard to believe!!
OK, we admit it, we are friends, fans and huge shills for our buddies at Boss Fight Studios. Since their Kickstarter campaign launched, we've done nothing but talk about these guys. Rightfully so! They are a very talented group of artists who worked on our favorite brand and we want to see them do well away from the corporate shackles. They are fans just like us trying to live the dream! The great part is, even you can help! Have a spare dollar? Maybe a spare $30? How about a spare $100 or more? EVERY DOLLAR AND EVERY BACKER TO THE CAMPAIGN COUNTS! It is a safe investment as the initial funding level has been met, but don't let that deter you from pitching in! Now, sometimes these Kickstarter things are a little bit difficult to understand. How do I contribute my money? Is it secure? Do they take my money now? What are the different contribution levels? What are stretch goals? Learn all about these questions and more in this special edition. Pardon in advance on some of the audio breaking up. We were stretching the bandwidth to its limits. However, settle in as we discuss their project (and have some fun at Chuck's expense) over the next hour. We hope you enjoy and when you are done, here is the almighty link to allow you to contribute. You won't be disappointed!
Yes! It was on its deathbed, but it got resurrected. Thanks to some long hours of editing we managed to piece together. The background on this show: well, we recorded this a few weeks before JoeCon. During the recording, the raw files on the primary recording PC basically corrupted. However, as ANY good podcast should be doing, a backup recording was being made. All hail Chuck for saving the day. Unfortunately, the show is now very dated. We had on Kirk Bozigian to tease us about his JoeCon panel and a return visit by Chris Sims, who brought along Chad Bowers to talk about their football themed super hero comic, "Down, Set, Fight". In a further bout of bad fortune, this interview was supposed to air WAY back in Feburary to coincide with the launch of their book. FAIL! We're not pros, but we sure did have a fun time talking about Football, Marvel's NFL Super Pro, MegaForce, Smokey and the Bandit and...GI Joe. Outside of the interviews we were joined by Boss Fight Studio's own, the esteemed Andrew Franks. We've missed the fans, and hopefully you missed this too - enough to listen to an old, nearly lost episode.
Fresh off of the 2014 G.I. Joe convention and with a mere week to go until the Kickstarter campaign is over, Mike, Chuck, and Justin sit down with MJ himself from Marauder "Gun Runners". Joining MJ is Dave Proctor from Boss Fight Studio as they talk to the guys about expectations for the Marauder "Task Force", the amazing response to the funding program, and the reasoning behind some of the figure design decisions. It's a quick one hour talk with some great "geek out" moments and some terrific insight behind the design and execution of the fantastic new Marauder "Task Force" product!
Join Mike, Gary, Eddie, Chris and Dave (when he decided to sit down) as they do a "jointcast" show in front of a live studio audience at Roll Out Roll Call 4 in Southampton UK. In segment 1 we will introduce the respective shows. In segment 2 we commentate on the costume contest. In segment 3 we interview RORC Special Guests - the guys from Boss Fight Studios. In segment 4 we dip into the mailbag. Lastly we wrap it up with what we got in and shout outs. Its a quick typical WOJM show, just with an accent. Enjoy!!
You have waited long enough so we're going to reward you with this 3 hour epic filled with 2 interviews that you will want to hear. In the first half, our friends from Boss Fight Studios join us before they make the hop to Roll Out Roll Call 4 in the UK. Find out what they are working on and what is next for our favorite former Joe Team designers. In the second half we continue our interview series with the GIJCC meeting David S. Lane. If you ever wanted to know how the club designs a figure and what Hasbro's role is, you will want to listen. Also find out how close we are to learning what the 2014 incentive figure is. It is an interesting interview with Dave pulling back the curtain to unveil a world we only known from rumor and conjecture. You won't want to miss it. To wrap it up, we dip into the mailbag, make fun of Justin's crappy Fantasy Football Team and report in on what we've got in over these last couple of slow weeks. And don't forget, since this is episode 86, we will talk about our favorite figures and vehicles from '86. Vintage talk ahoy! Enjoy!!
