WOJM 108: Quick & Dirty 2017

It's the annual Quick 'n' Dirty "Live" Pre-JoeCon Edition!  "Live" just really means that Gary didn't put much effort behind editing this other than dropping in the opening and exit cuts.  So you get to hear every "um," "ah," studder, long awkward pause and lame joke that we normally record yet we edit out 99% of the time.  The gang talks about the Joes of 2008, goes over the JoeCon schedule and touches on the news, in addition to the very popular Creepy Fanboy Emails to Joe and Postsac segments.  We'll also be making fun of Justin as he has some life-changing surgery on the horizon.  No, this is not re-assignment surgery, so if you are waiting for Justine, you will have to wait AT LEAST to next year.  So, turn up the radio, recline the airplane seat back further, or rest a bag of frozen peas on your groin and enjoy the show!  Safe travels and we'll see you in Orlando!

Episode 86: What’s on JOE Mind?

You have waited long enough so we're going to reward you with this 3 hour epic filled with 2 interviews that you will want to hear.  In the first half, our friends from Boss Fight Studios join us before they make the hop to Roll Out Roll Call 4 in the UK.  Find out what they are working on and what is next for our favorite former Joe Team designers.  In the second half we continue our interview series with the GIJCC meeting David S. Lane.  If you ever wanted to know how the club designs a figure and what Hasbro's role is, you will want to listen.  Also find out how close we are to learning what the 2014 incentive figure is.  It is an interesting interview with Dave pulling back the curtain to unveil a world we only known from rumor and conjecture.  You won't want to miss it.  To wrap it up, we dip into the mailbag, make fun of Justin's crappy Fantasy Football Team and report in on what we've got in over these last couple of slow weeks.  And don't forget, since this is episode 86, we will talk about our favorite figures and vehicles from '86.  Vintage talk ahoy!  Enjoy!!

Episode 80: What's on JOE Mind?

This is one of those episodes that took forever to edit, but hopefully it was worth the wait.  The show features not one, but two primetime interviews PLUS the returns of two of our most favorite guests.  First off are the returns of Bill Ratner and Kevin Watts.  Bill shares with us his thoughts of JoeCon as we have a very casual discussion with the man who will forever be the voice of our childhood Flint.  He also learns about JoeCon in other countries - will we see him at Roll Out Roll Call 4?  Next up is an interview we have been very eager to bring you, our interview with Lanny Lathem from the GIJCC.  This is the first, of what we hope is a regular segment we have with the club, so be sure to leave us your feedback on this interview.  Following the break we chat with Mr. Watts about his NJCC Salvo figure and share a little back and forth about the Joe internet culture's feedback on it. Sorry for the timing on this release.  Our jobs have been very aggressive with our free time, so time that we used to spend on recording and editing was replaced by working and sleep this go around.  We are VERY VERY interested in your feedback on the GIJCC segment.  Send us your thoughts or leave them here in the comment section.  Enjoy!

WOJM Special Edition #31: "What's on JOE Mind?" LIVE!

During this year's JoeCon, WOJM was allowed the very unique opportunity to host a panel for the attendees.  Thus, "WOJM Live!" was born.  Join Mike, Justin and Gary as they interview the GIJCC's own "Headman," Mr. Brian Savage himself.  Yes, for the first time ever, the club submits to an interview...what will they say?  Following the interview, we send Mike out into the crowd to talk about your one-word issues.  What will the randomness result in when our own "Roving Mike" put a microphone in front of a stranger's mouth?  So in case you've missed it (like Chuck), here is WOJM on-stage debut at the 2013 JoeCon in Indy!  Enjoy!

Episode 78: What’s on JOE Mind?

The co-hosts (and Chuck) return after their trip to JoeCon and some much needed rest (or in Chuck's case, just another week at home).   The team dives right into a full recap of JoeCon, including the surprise 2013 Concept Case, a full preview of FSS2.0, and their thoughts on the Hasbro presentation - what as shown and not show therein.  Oh...and they briefly review their on-stage debut as WOJM went LIVE for their first ever, full blown, JoeCon panel.  After intermission, it's time to hit the mailbag.  There is some Retaliation and some good ol' ARAH discussion in there.  However, there is a lot more JoeCon discussion is to follow, including a very good question on how to make JoeCon more appealing to the masses despite all of the post show negativity that typically accompanies convention season.  Lastly, Mike crowns Justin the WOJM March Madness champ for 2013, but wait until who finishes second and gets a chance to come on the show...no, its not Dave Tree, although he did beat Gary.

WOJM Special Edition #30: JoeCon Day 3

So were our trio drunk or not for Special Edition #29...or did they lead you to think that?  Well if you think that is controversial, wait until you hear this report, "LIVE" from the sales floor.  Join Mike, Justin and Gary as they record directly out of the COIL Club's booth, which is dead center of the sales floor.  The guys will report on what has happened thus far to this point in the show and interview friends and listeners as they stroll by.  You will also recognize two of the personalities we talk to as regular show "contributors".  Who could they be?  You have to listen and find out.  No beers were consumed during this recording, but if you hate the consumption of donuts, you may want to skip this one.  Enjoy!!

Episode 73: What’s on JOE Mind?

The guys are back, surviving Winter Storm Nemo and Toy Fair. Before jumping into the coverage, we play our pre-recorded interview of the Renegades voice of Ripcord, Khary Payton. We talk to him about Renegades, Aqualad AND his voice roles in Metal Gear Solid and The Sims (yes, that is right, The Sims). Following the interview we replay the audio presentation of the Hasbro Toy Fair presentation concerning GI Joe. Following the break, we jump into a Mike-less mailbag answering some speculation questions on JoeCon and a Legendary letter from one noted Legendary listener. In the news, JoeDeclassified and JoeCustoms is having the mother-of-all customs contest with a grand prize that is truly priceless. Marauder John starts another Kickstarter campaign and at the time of the recording, we ALREADY successful, but you should contribute anyway, especially if you gave the first time around! Hot Toys tries to make poor Joe fans even more poor with pre-orders of their 12" Retaliation Storm Shadow. Speaking of poor Joe fans, BBTS puts their Marauders 7 pack on sale, so buy 'em up! Wanna free watch featured in the Retaliation film, the guys will tell you where to enter. Speaking of Retaliation, the viral marketing campaign is in full swing, do you have what it takes? Lastly, lengthy coverage of the GIJCC's 12" Comrade of Action and JOECON registration (which at the time of this recording as well was still open, but we had an idea it would be closing soon). All of this, dramatically and non-comedic-ally read by Ted Bastard (aka Chuck doing a very bad impersonation of Ted Baxter). Following that possible train wreck, we review Toy Fair once again, and predictably, Chuck goes fan boy for no reason whatsoever on the newly revealed Eaglehawk. We replay a clip from the ModeratelyGeeky podcast, which former guest of the show George, reads a monolog on WHY Joe fans will not like the Eaglehawk - and Chuck falls right into that hole as we expected. Mike is not here this week, but he makes his presence known. Thanks to Jay for stepping in again. We hope you enjoy this jammed packed show!

Episode 10: What's on JOE Mind?

The gang is back together! Chuck goes over his clandestine rescue of Greg in Canada which leads to an unfortunate slip of the tongue by Chuck. Getting down to business Greg finally gives his Canadian Joe Con report. We dip into the mailbag to read some listener mail from Japan and once again discuss the OCS ARAH Project - is O-Ring evolution a bad thing? In the news, Greg takes us through the details of the 2nd Annual COIL Con and Sideshow Snake Eyes Statue. The team reacts to the good news from the GIJCC concerning the cancelled mail-away Rise of Cobra Cobra Commander figure w/ HISS Drone being made available to members. We review the latest episode of Renegades. Why is this show getting cancelled (er...we mean put on 'hiatus') when it is FINALLY getting good - thanks HASBRO! Rounding out the news we discuss the latest GI Joe 2 castings as Justin kindly reminds us that the Blind Master was originally black, so the casing of RZA is very appropriate. In our first debate segment called "Watch Yer Flank!", we react to the latest Seibertron Twincast report that eventually JoeCon and BotCon will be one. Gary reacts harshly as you would expect. Is it a good idea or bad idea? Lastly, we give out the details on how YOU can win a PRE-PRODUCTION 30th Anniversary Skystriker. Episode 8: What's on JOE Mind? - Monday Night Edition!

That's right, we are a day early this week as we begin our journey to Toronto for the 2011 Canadian Joe Convention! Greg phoned it in - LITERALLY. It sucks not having internet, but the powers of a good smart phone and powerful app level the playing field - even though it sounded like he was calling from a cave. Chuck tries his hand at amateur comedy and shows why he now on Homeland Security's watchlist and not showing up at the Improv. We talk about the upcoming CJC; Gary tells us how to LEGALLY get into Canada; we discuss the 6" protos from Goggles and Notpicard. In addition, the team gives their thoughts on the the possible casting of Jinx, Renegades episode 21 & Dr. Venom. Finally we give a refresher on SK Omega, and Justin reminds us to give the GIJCC a break. We are Eastbound and Down! Enjoy and see you in Canada!
