2019 was a busy year for our little program, and we'd be remiss if we didn't send it off with a bang! Mike, Joe, and guest host Mark Weber don't have a ton of news to talk about, but there's still lots of discussion and fun to be had with the holidays upon us. In this episode, Mike and Mark teach Joe that lessons can be learned from Creepy Fanboy Messages Straight From Losertown, and Joe gets territorial in (Ryan Costello's) Postsac! It's a multitude of mirth and massive merriment in the madcap #WOJM method!
Happy Holidays to everyone!!
With Joe prepping for Dragon Con and Carson lost to his workload, Mark Weber and Bobby Vala return to the WOJM compound to host the first episode with not one, but TWO former Hasbro heads-of-the-brand! It's over three hours of GI Joe content as our intrepid crew sails the sea of Snake-Eyes movie news, IDW comic happenings, and Postsac letters! This episode also takes a nostalgic turn as Mike talks about cast turnover and gives tribute to the end of a colleague's podcast, and Mark relives the best advice he ever got from his veterinarian. Jerry Lewis may be gone, but your Labor Day weekend marathon is RIGHT HERE!
With Carson still away from the microphone due to his recent wedding, Mark Weber returns to hosting for the second consecutive regular episode! In this episode, news about the upcoming G.I. Joe movie is discussed, Hasbro's struggles in finding a home for its animation studio are noted, the most recent flood of Postsac letters are cleared, and the gang teams up to give Bobby Vala's Action Force Kickstarter one last... well, kick. Also, Mike struggles with pronunciation, Joe finds an issue with "Man's Best Friend," and Mark continues to hide from Tim Roberts! It's equal parts madcap fun and honest-to-goodness GI Joe discussion in the Wonderful WOJM Way!
Former G.I. Joe brand head honcho Mark Weber rejoins Mike and Joe in the WOJM studio, and gives some insight to collecting in Bend, Oregon, in the 1980s. (Suffice to say, rivalries - perhaps blood feuds? - were born, because there wasn't a whole lot to go around.) To that end, enjoy Mark's tales of squaring off with the soon-to-be legendary Tim Roberts!
Plus, there's a slew of movie news and a full and hearty Postsac, complete with a call to action from YouTube's Cobra Commander 788! Two more hours of madness, courtesy of WOJM!
And don't forget our brand new merchandise, available at What's On Joe Mall-
Valaverse founder and former GI Joe brand manager Bobby Vala joins Joe and Mike as Spring, um, springs into action! They talk about the all-new Valaverse Action Force (Bobby's upcoming Kickstarter project), of course, and this episode is chock full of fun to spare. Enjoy:
- A progressively-tipsy Joe Colton!
- A new creepy contender to Cot Guy!
- New Postsac letters!
- The WOJM-exclusive reveal of the Deadpool Twenty!
- MUCH, MUCH MORE!

Carson, Joe, and Mike are back with a winter's worth of news and lots of GI Joe fun! The fans responded to Mike's challenge to fill the Postsac, so be ready for lots of discussion! You can join in the fun too - just drop your message in the Postsac at email@example.com, or call the WOJM Voicemail at 262-515-9656. DOWNLOAD AND LISTEN TODAY!
With Joe and Carson MIA, we had to turn to reinforcements for November's episode. Even though there's not a lot of product right now, there's a whole lot in the news! Join Mike, and guest hosts Fred Meyer (of Just Another GI Joe Show) and Mark Weber (former head of the GI Joe brand at Hasbro) as they try to make sense of what's going on at Hasbro, review the GIJCC's last-ever offerings, and share stories of twenty-eight toed cats. Pack a lunch, this one checks in just under three hours!
ALSO: The recording got a little spotty at times after the first hour. It's mostly okay, but if you find a rough spot... SHUT UP ABOUT IT.
October is both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so the team decided it was a good time to give the keys to Joe Colton and bring back our Ladies' Night tradition (Ladies Night III to be exact)! Joining Joe is Spider-Slayer and Tinkles (old friends of the show Sara Detrick and Kate McLeod), and together they'll explore the world of GI Joe from a feminine perspective - from cosplaying to collecting and may stops in between. You'll also learn the origins of their special code names (for the record, Joe's is "Sniffles") and have a laugh or twenty along the way. Pour yourself a favorite beverage - just like our hostesses with the mostesses - and enjoy!
PS, if you enjoyed this edition of Ladies Night, go back into our archives and listen to Ladies Night I and II. You won't be disappointed.
NOTE TO ASPIRING PODCASTERS: Never try to "squeeze in" a recording just ahead of a major storm. Sound quality is not great for some of this episode and it was a four-week nightmare to try to save, but SAVED IT WAS! Carson picks up a new sponsor, Joe regales the boys with drunken tales of Dragon Con, and Mike tries to get everyone to just plug the show. Yes, it's business as usual on this episode of What's On Joe Mind? Download, enjoy, and tell your friends RIGHT NOW!!
Mike and Joe are joined by Carson Mataxis from 3DJoes.com and Maggie Cogan of The Finest to review the news and chat about the holidays. Along the way, our hearts grew three sizes, and we all gained some respect for Joe's mom, The Little Immigrant. Enjoy! (Opening/closing themes thanks of Funky Butt Brass Band!)
It's the annual Quick 'n' Dirty "Live" Pre-JoeCon Edition! "Live" just really means that Gary didn't put much effort behind editing this other than dropping in the opening and exit cuts. So you get to hear every "um," "ah," studder, long awkward pause and lame joke that we normally record yet we edit out 99% of the time. The gang talks about the Joes of 2008, goes over the JoeCon schedule and touches on the news, in addition to the very popular Creepy Fanboy Emails to Joe and Postsac segments. We'll also be making fun of Justin as he has some life-changing surgery on the horizon. No, this is not re-assignment surgery, so if you are waiting for Justine, you will have to wait AT LEAST to next year. So, turn up the radio, recline the airplane seat back further, or rest a bag of frozen peas on your groin and enjoy the show! Safe travels and we'll see you in Orlando!
UPDATE: this episode should be 1:53:54. The previous upload cut off at the 1:07:xx mark. We re-uploaded the file again, so if you heard this prior to 5pm Eastern on 5/20, you have only heard half of the episode. This is also a cheap way to inflate downloads and listens. Did we do this on purpose...or not? ;)
The long-awaited Part 2 of the epically long Episode 107. We are joined by Aubrey Sitterson as we discuss comics and what IS and what ISN'T a crossover, plus we share what we got in recently (at the time) and shout outs!
Yes, yes, yes, blah, blah, blah...yes, we know this is late and they are not timely as they have been in the past, but real life matters. Stop yer gripin'! This is the Holidays/New Year edition. When we recorded 107, it was shaping up to be a six-hour epic. So instead of continuing to make our listeners wait, we are releasing 107 in two parts. Part one consists of our typical show material: The Joes of 2007, more creepy cosplay fanboy messages to Joe, a ton of news, Buzz Dixon makes his triumphant return to the show, and Joe and Justin talk a whole bunch about sexting pics. Yes, a little steamy heat to warm up your cold winter nights. Enjoy Part 1. Part 2 will be out soon!
ZOMG! It's a REAL episode!! Yes, the gang brings you almost FIVE hours of Joe Related Talk...and other subjects...and pointless tangents. Justin was having "family time" so joining us for substitution host duty is Chris McLeod of The Full Force. Since this is our first show since JoeCon (yes, we know it has been that long, but we all have real lives we must live folks), we spend a SIGNIFICANT amount of time in the news doing a day-by-day review of all that went down in Loveland. We also catch up on other topics in the news...all which is old news now, but you can hear what we have to say instead of reading it on a forum or in social media. We also talk to IDW GI Joe artist extraordinaire, Tom Feister as we check in to what projects he has cooking for the rest of the year. All that plus the Joes of 2006 and Inappropriate Cosplay Emails to Joe Colton. We know you will love this new segment! We'll fill you in with our lives in the real world on our next episode, but for now, enjoy this MEGA show...this should last you a couple of days on your commutes...unless you have a long commute and in that case we hope it makes your trip go by that much more rapidly. Thanks for thinking of us! We appreciate your loyalty!!
It is our yearly "live" night-before-we-travel-to-JoeCon-episode! Joining us for a quick interview is Jason Bienvenu to talk about his Animal Warriors of The Kingdom Kickstarter campaign. He's a Joe fan and wants to share his action figure passion with the world. After we part with Jason, we talk about the Joes of 2005, Joe tries to set up Mike with her friend Maggie, we go over the complete JoeCon schedule with friend Jim Beutel (from Animal Planet's "When Animals Bang"...), Noted Author James Kavanaugh drops a wrestling-style promo on Joe announcing his intentions to take back the JoeCon cosplay title before retiring the belt for life and we give our commentary on what we expect at the Hasbro and Club roundtables.
Be sure to join us THIS Sunday from 1:00p to 1:50p for our Live JoeCon panel. We will turn out the lights on the convention. Will Mike channel his inner Don Meredith and sing "Turn out the Lights"?
Will James win? Will Mike actually talk to a woman? Will there be a JoeCon in 2017? Answers to these questions and more will be this week. Join us for the speculation!
Reminder, this is our quick and dirty episode. A minimal effort was put into editing of this. If it sounds bad, now you know how much work Gary puts into editing. ;)
We talk about the Joes from 2004, catch up on the news, begin to set the table of what will happen at JoeCon...and generally get side tracked - A LOT. Download it now and listen to it on your way to JoeCon!
Speaking of JoeCon, be sure to catch Mike, Gary, Joe and Chris McLeod from the Full Force at our JoeCon panel on Sunday, June 19th at 1:00. It will be the last ever panel at JoeCon. Join us as we turn out the lights...forever (maybe, maybe not, we will see - we're looking at you Hasbro!) ;-)
If you have not signed it already, be sure to sign our petition to Save the GI Joe Convention! If you want a Joe-only convention like us, make sure you sign the petition and let the powers-that-be know what you think! More than 2500 people have signed. Sign on the campaign today!
It's the Christmas in...May edition! Yes, yes, this is another one of those episodes we recorded months ago and are just now getting around to finish editing and posting it. In this episode, we have a hearty discussion about the Joes from 2003. In the news we spend a lot of time talking with Justin about working with Hasbro for the Fan's Choice Kindle World's Character voting process. Justin also asks Joe about her pie. Yes, it is the truth. It's a little more than 90 minutes of fun, so have fun listening!
This whole episode will speak for itself. New 4th chair, Joe Colton officially joins the rotation! Zack Hoffman and Brian Cummings join us to talk about JoeCon 2015 in our first ever double-interview. None of this episode is timely - AT ALL, but we hope you enjoy it nevertheless. We have two more shows in the "can" that we will be working on in the coming weeks. So, something to look forward to. In the meantime, help the #savegijoe campaign and sign the petition by going to www.savegijoe.org
Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding during our "hiatus." It has been a busy year-of-change for all of the hosts.
ZOMG! It's here...finally. We recorded this well before JoeCon, but it is a MONSTER episode. We figured we should put out something worthy of 100, so here is our biggest show ever! It's all about you the listeners and us thumping our chest a little bit. Afterall, 100 shows is no small feat. It takes a lot of work and time, so we figured we would enjoy ourselves on this one, share some memories and look back at what make the previous 99 so special. Along the way we are joined by Bill Murphy from Fresh Monkey Fiction and Craig from Zica Toys to talk to us about their Captain Action and Eagle Force revival campaigns who talk to us about their upcoming Kickstarter slated for later this summer. They share with us a big announcement that you will want to hear! We are also joined by Cobra Commander...yes, the genuine article joins us to read your letters in the mailbag. It's all the pre-JoeCon news, your calls and our memories. Thanks for listening and being part of this awesome ride! We hope you enjoy this epic #100.
It's our annual quick and dirty pre-JoeCon "live" show...unedited for your rapid enjoyment. Joining us is CFB Ambassador, Jim Beutel to tell us all about this year's annual meet up. As you read this, parties are in motion toward Springfield, so download, plug in and enjoy this on your trip. #100 is still in the editing works so we hope this tides you over.
As a staff, we had been planning Episode 99 for a while. We already recorded a very interesting interview with former Lanard and Mattel Designer, and huge Joe fan, Hawk Sanders that we knew everyone would love. It seemed like every time we needed the co-hosts to get together on this, something was always preventing the recording from happening. Whether it was Gary or Justin missing because of work, or it was Mike taking a longer than needed nap, the stars never did quite align when we wanted them to. We recorded the bulk of this show on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015. Justin could not join because of work and a lousy Super Bowl victory hangover. So we went to the WOJM sub pool to find someone who could step in. We could think of no other than JoeDeclassified's Gary "Goggles" Head to fill the role. Gary was more than accepting to join, even crafting time away from his family on Tuesday night to record with us into the wee hours of Wednesday morning. It is a GREAT episode. We had good news, we talked about the convention set, we had good letters which sparked great discussion and Gary filled us in with what we would see at the Declass booth in Springfield. We ended this episode with great laughs and hearty good byes knowing that we'd be seeing each other and talking to each other soon. Sadly, on the afternoon of February 7th, we lost Gary to what has been described as a heart condition. Needless to say, as we all considered Gary, not only a friend of the program, but as personal friends too, we were shocked. Words are tough to come by to describe our sadness and remorse. This episode is dedicated to Gary's memory. His loss cannot be measured. He was one-of-a-kind. He will be missed. Thank you Gary for ALL you did for the GI Joe Community and WOJM.
When you are done listening to this episode, our friends at JoeDeclassified setup a fund to help support Gary's family in their time of need. We encourage you to give what you can. Every little bit helps. Thank you.
Just in time for the holiday break, we give you #98! In this episode Gary and Noted Author James give you an on-the-spot report at Iowa's Assembly Required show. We also sit down with WOJM SuperGuest Bill Ratner and talk to him about his latest book and other projects he is working on. In the news "One Tank" Mike reports on what happened at Roll Out Roll Call in Southampton UK. We also discuss the unfortunate news of a former guest and community contributor passing. In the mailbag we got two very good letters, one razzing Chuck (YAY!) and the other sparking a lively debate on the wildly speculated (yet no actual facts thereof) a 6" Joe line. Lastly, as JoeCon nears, WOJM and veteran newsman Ted Baxter get you ready for Springfield by giving you facts about the town in an all new segment we hope you like. Hope you all enjoy! Happy Holidays from all of us! Stay safe!
Not exactly a timely episode, but hey, not a lot is going on. No worries, #98 is right around the corner. You may be wishing for it after you hear Chuck ramble in the opening segment. We basically catch up on some old news, discuss COIL Con V and have a small roundtable on the Club wanting to experiment with Shattered Glass and more TF/Joe Crossovers...which make Gary very grumpy. Enjoy the funk!
This episode we talk some more Kickstarter with Carson from 3DJoes.com and his new ongoing poster campaign. Get the details here. Later on we talk with Chris from the COIL Club about the upcoming COIL Con V show in Indianapolis on Sept 13th. In the news we talk 50th Anniversary, SDCC AND finally details about the upcoming WOJM Fantasy Football season. It's a short but packed show. Enjoy!
It was an epic record night as we watched the start of the monumental final 24 hours of the Boss Fight Studio Kickstarter campaign. We also include in this program an interview with GI Joe voice talent, Michael Dobson and get his impressions of JoeCon. Speaking of JoeCon, we are also joined by JoeCon regular Kirk Bozigian as shares some memories of working with the late Don Levine, also known as the father of GI Joe. Lastly, after regular news and mailbag segments, we are surprised by the Boss Fight crew and we get their opinions of what the last 39 days have been like and what is next for Vitruvian HACKS. We hope you enjoy this one! Even Chuck was on his A-game...yeah, we know, its hard to believe!!
Bill Ratner is BACK! Yes, the man you know as Flint has BLOWN up lately. You can hear his voice on commercials from cars to cookies. Despite being a most awesome guest, he holds GI Joe near and dear to his heart. You can catch him next at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, June 18-21 and 25-28 performing LIVE and ON STAGE: The True Life Adventures of Barbie and GI Joe. What has Flint gotten himself into THIS time? Also...Arune Singh is BACK! That's right, our good buddy with Marvel Television stops in to talk about how cool (or not cool if you are Gary) a Joe/Transformers crossover would be. Prompted by the new IDW title, Arune thought the time was right to put it up for debate. You might be surprised how the gang reacts. In addition, all the latest about the Boss Fight Kickstarter, mailbag and all the good stuff we got in since JoeCon. We're back on track! Enjoy!
Yes! It was on its deathbed, but it got resurrected. Thanks to some long hours of editing we managed to piece together. The background on this show: well, we recorded this a few weeks before JoeCon. During the recording, the raw files on the primary recording PC basically corrupted. However, as ANY good podcast should be doing, a backup recording was being made. All hail Chuck for saving the day. Unfortunately, the show is now very dated. We had on Kirk Bozigian to tease us about his JoeCon panel and a return visit by Chris Sims, who brought along Chad Bowers to talk about their football themed super hero comic, "Down, Set, Fight". In a further bout of bad fortune, this interview was supposed to air WAY back in Feburary to coincide with the launch of their book. FAIL! We're not pros, but we sure did have a fun time talking about Football, Marvel's NFL Super Pro, MegaForce, Smokey and the Bandit and...GI Joe. Outside of the interviews we were joined by Boss Fight Studio's own, the esteemed Andrew Franks. We've missed the fans, and hopefully you missed this too - enough to listen to an old, nearly lost episode.
Why episode 93?! Well, because episode 92 is not ready yet. However, this one is ready and why make anyone wait? It's our "LIVE" show before JoeCon. Once again we are joined by the Vice President of The Crappy Figure Brigade, Don Anderson. We finally let Chuck talk a little wrestling, but really this episode is about one thing, JoeCon. The guys will preview the convention schedule and will give you an up-to-the-minute AccuWeather forecast for Dallas. It's raw and unfiltered and contains 50% more Chuck - so play this out of earshot of kids.
Pluv and Dan from the JoeCustoms Podcast join us for a very informal roundtable crossover edition of WOJM. Substituting again for Chuck is Dave from the Dave and Devall's Toys & Collectables Podcast. Plus the guys talk Joe from 1991, discuss the news, dip into the mailbag and much much more!
Erik from Boss Fight Studios and Dave from the "Dave and Devall's Toys & Collectables" Podcast help co-host with Justin and Mike as they wrap up the latest from FSS2 and the upcoming Joe Convention in Dallas. That's right, NO CHUCK, but 3 times the fun! We also feature yet another interview with a famous voice from Sunbow's path, none other than BJ Ward dials in to talk with us about Scarlett and her upcoming appearance at JoeCon! Gary is taking a few episodes off, so special thanks to Maximus for the edit job.
