Iggy the Cat sits down with his human, Distinguished Author Mark Bellomo, to chat with Mike, Joe, and Carson. Every so often, Mark veers off-subject and talks about the runaway success of The Ultimate Guide To G.I. Joe: 1982-1994, 3rd Edition, toys, fandoms, and his other projects, but thankfully Iggy is there to bring it all back to him! Think of this as a little something extra for the holidays. Thanks for tuning in, and be sure to check out our other recent episodes!
Despite Mark being an evil Patriots fan, he redeems himself for his love GI Joe. Want MOAR Mark? Check out our past interviews with him here:

Noted Author James Kavanaugh gets Gary, Joe, and Mike to fall in for Rank & File Vol.4 at the Ohio Toy & Comic Show! The gang also talked more about the 2018 GIJCC and took some time for Q&A with the crowd at this live appearance. All this plus Debbie Godsoe! DOWNLOAD NOW!!
It's the last JoeCon! They've been home for weeks, but join Mike, Joe, and Carson as they unpack from the 2018 Joecon! They've got stories to tell, news to spread, and Joe may even shed a tear or two! What's next for the community? What's On Joe Mind RIDES AGAIN!!
Mike and Justin sit down for an in-depth chat with legendary storyboard artist Larry Houston, Director of GI Joe: The Movie. Enjoy!
For the 6th consecutive year, we read the JoeCon brochure and give you our tips and tricks on how you can best enjoy the weekend. We also share in past JoeCon stories and experiences. Justin reads as Mike, Joe and Gary comment. Chances are running out! There are only 2 Official GI Joe Conventions left!! We'll see you (well, most of us anyway) in Orlando in June! Enjoy!
Mike and Chris interview Blake about his big KONG-er, about the new King Kong movie line from Lanard, and get into the company's long history with making product similar to GI Joe. Enjoy!
It's our 50th Special Edition! So this was supposed to be the recording of the last ever panel at JoeCon. Well, after the Hasbro panel on Saturday, EVERYTHING changed! So instead of turning out the lights, we're going to see you next year! Mike Irizarry hosts and is joined by Joe "Coin Flip" Colton, Chris "ROM" McLeod, Dave "My Hair IS Combed" Tree, and a voiceless (yet extremely smug) Gary Godsoe. They get a chance to talk to Brian Savage on how the new two year deal with Hasbro materialized and how Orlando quickly took shape. We also hear from Fub Pub's Lanny Latham and we present a special award to Noted Author James Kavanaugh. Since Gary had no voice, he was our roving mic for some Q&A with the audience. The attendees had some great questions including our thought on how the #savegijoe campaign may have helped (or not helped) Hasbro's decision to extend the contract with Fun Pub for another two years. Lastly, what live show isn't complete without a visual gag, in an homage to the Colts-Broncos 1988 Halloween Monday Night Football Game
, all of the hosts were equipped with Justin Bell masks!
Hey, no one said it was going to be pretty!
There may be only TWO more JoeCon's left, so don't miss your chance! We better see you next year in Orlando!!
The gang reviews the current state of the #saveGIJoe campaign, related news items to the possible future of JoeCon and Hasbro Properties, and a review of the club news from BotCon.
Remember, if you haven't signed the petition yet (yes, it is still a thing!) we ask you to sign now. We still need your support! Here are a trio of very important sites you should know. Sign the petition now, join the campaign today!
It's the annual reading of the JoeCon Brochure. Gather 'round the fire kids, as Uncle Justin reads the Brochure. We'll talk all things JoeCon...and some non-JoeCon things as well. Enjoy!
Look, I know what you are thinking. First, what took so long? Second, if they didn't do the stupid football show this would have been done by now. Well, to answer your question, first, Gary's available editing time has decreased and second, you are correct, but Gary can only edit one show at a time! However, regardless of it all, it is here now, the long lost, but not forgotten, WOJM review of JoeCon 2015! This was recorded WAY back in April of 2015, just a few days after all of us got back from JoeCon. Our voices were still hoarse and some of us were still recovering from the dreaded "con crud." So, if you heard our Loveland special edition and you are still on the fence about coming to JoeCon 2016, have a listen to this day by day and moment by moment reaccounting (is that a word??) of the big weekend. Enjoy!
You will be thrilled to know that we have 2 full episodes in the can and one is in the process of being edited. We hope to have that out in the next couple of weeks. We have some big changes in store and we'll clue you in when the time is right. Thanks all!
Whoa! What happened to Special Edition #46?! Well, we're still working on it. In the meantime, we moved on to #47 to react to the GIJCC's JoeCon site announcement. This year we are finally headed back west as a tiny burg named Loveland will enter our lexicon next to such cities as San Francisco, Dallas, New Orleans...and yes, Indianapolis. What is there to see and do in the area? As always our intrepid crew tracks down a local to fill us in with the info that only locals know. So sit back, relax and listen to the gang re-assembling to talk about JoeCon 2015 - in Loveland, Colorado...and as always, sharing dirty stories about one Noted Author. You don't want to miss it!!
ZOMG!!! What is this?! WOJM content has been posted that isn't either Football or Boss Fight related?! It is a joyous day!! Yes, yes, with the site of JoeCon 2016 just being announced, I guess now is just as good of a time to post the audio from our live show from JoeCon 2015 in Springfield. Joining us on stage that day was a near who-who of published (or soon to be) GI Joe authors. When you mention author on our show, you can't go too far in thought without Noted Author James Kavanaugh coming to mind. James joins us once again to talk about his new (at the time) RAHC Rank & File Guide! We also have Tim Finn join us to talk about his work in progress: A Real American Book! Next we are joined by Carson Mataxis (who is really wanting that 4th chair with us) and his new book: Collecting the Art of GI Joe, Vol 1. All of these authors and their books, its like the Opra show...without the free stuff under your seat!! Lastly, Brian Cummings impromptly (is that a word?) joins us on stage in a quick follow up to our earlier interview with him. Its a whole lotta info smashed into less than an hour! We'll have another real episode very soon, we promise. Thanks for listening!
So, going to JoeCon for the first time? You will WANT to listen to this episode. For the 4th consecutive year, Mike, Justin and Gary will go over - in depth - the 2015 JoeCon Brochure. This year we are joined by none other than the head of the GI Joe Collectors' Club himself, Mr. Brian Savage. Whether you are a JoeCon rookie or JoeCon vet, there is something in this show for everyone. Naturally, if you have a question and it did not get answered in this show, email the program at email@example.com and we'll get to the bottom of it for you. Until then, have a listen and hopefully we will see you in "beautiful" Springfield!!
Erik and Dave from Boss Fight Studios stop by to update us on Vitruvian HACKS, Eagle Force and Caption Action. We also spend an unhealthy but comical amount of time talking about Conference Championship Weekend in the NFL (before the Patriots cheated again), Zorro the Gay Blade and Hall & Oates...yes, you read that right - Hall & Oates. Enjoy!
Much like most the of the fandom, we were surprised and somewhat dumbfounded as the tinyish burb of Springfield, IL was selected as the site for our 2015 convention location. However, two special somebodies are pretty happy that Springfield was chosen and want to tell us why. It's coming up next on this very special edition of WOJM!!
For a long time we have teased at it. You have asked for it. So we have delivered for you! It is the first-ever (to our knowledge) feature length commentary of the cult 80's favorite, MegaForce. Find out what GI Joe and MegaForce have in common! Listen and find out...better yet, watch AND listen to find out. So grab some popcorn, the MegaForce DVD and join us for 90 minutes of some Hal Needham directed craziness!!
OK, we admit it, we are friends, fans and huge shills for our buddies at Boss Fight Studios. Since their Kickstarter campaign launched, we've done nothing but talk about these guys. Rightfully so! They are a very talented group of artists who worked on our favorite brand and we want to see them do well away from the corporate shackles. They are fans just like us trying to live the dream! The great part is, even you can help! Have a spare dollar? Maybe a spare $30? How about a spare $100 or more? EVERY DOLLAR AND EVERY BACKER TO THE CAMPAIGN COUNTS! It is a safe investment as the initial funding level has been met, but don't let that deter you from pitching in! Now, sometimes these Kickstarter things are a little bit difficult to understand. How do I contribute my money? Is it secure? Do they take my money now? What are the different contribution levels? What are stretch goals? Learn all about these questions and more in this special edition. Pardon in advance on some of the audio breaking up. We were stretching the bandwidth to its limits. However, settle in as we discuss their project (and have some fun at Chuck's expense) over the next hour. We hope you enjoy and when you are done, here is the almighty link to allow you to contribute. You won't be disappointed!
Fresh off of the 2014 G.I. Joe convention and with a mere week to go until the Kickstarter campaign is over, Mike, Chuck, and Justin sit down with MJ himself from Marauder "Gun Runners". Joining MJ is Dave Proctor from Boss Fight Studio as they talk to the guys about expectations for the Marauder "Task Force", the amazing response to the funding program, and the reasoning behind some of the figure design decisions. It's a quick one hour talk with some great "geek out" moments and some terrific insight behind the design and execution of the fantastic new Marauder "Task Force" product!
After you listen (or while you're listening) make sure you hit up Kickstarter.com
and put your money where your mouth is! There are only 7 days left in the Kickstarter event, and right now, a generous anonymous donor is matching all funds up to $5,000! Now is the time to pony up

Gary is soooo happy it isn't Indy that he calls this this special edition #34. With that small gaff aside, it is a Dallas themed episode complete with anthems from the TV show and the Cowboys. Joining the show con-vets are the guys from the Regular Joes Podcast who put the regular WOJM hosts con appearance is total waste. Everyone on this show combined has over 60 YEARS of JoeCon experience. Got a question about JoeCon? On the fence about going? Wondering how much its going to cost? Will I fit in? Well, we answer this and many other question in addition to sharing MANY convention memories. WE are YOUR source for coverage of the OFFICIAL GI Joe Convention. Have a listen on THIS special edition #35 (c'mon Gary!) of WOJM!! Go Cowboys (and Colts and Giants)!!
Join Mike, Gary, Eddie, Chris and Dave (when he decided to sit down) as they do a "jointcast" show in front of a live studio audience at Roll Out Roll Call 4 in Southampton UK. In segment 1 we will introduce the respective shows. In segment 2 we commentate on the costume contest. In segment 3 we interview RORC Special Guests - the guys from Boss Fight Studios. In segment 4 we dip into the mailbag. Lastly we wrap it up with what we got in and shout outs. Its a quick typical WOJM show, just with an accent. Enjoy!!
Back on August 24, 2013, Mike and Gary were on hand at COIL Con IV. Joined by regular guest host Jay and Chuck from Star Joes, the fellas recap the day; its ups, its downs and they wrap it up with a bow by sharing what they picked up during the show. It is a quick 20 minute show! Enjoy!
Join regular hosts, Mike and Gary along with regular guest hosts, Noted Author James Kavanaugh and Senior Comic Desk Correspondent Mo Hunger as the team spends a day at the inaugural Indy Toy and Comic Expo.
Since it is a TOY and COMIC and EXPO, the team decided to cover each aspect of the show, whether it was about GI Joe or not.
The TOY segment, the guys talk to James about his upcoming sequel to his RAHC Guide and do an on-hand review of the Eaglehawk helicopter - all the while we have the EXTENDED Cut of Retaliation playing in the background. (Some spoilers here, so consider yourselves warned NOW!)
The COMIC segment, the guys talk with Mo Hunger about the current state of the Joe IDW universes and her son Phoenix drops a promo for us.
The EXPO segment, the guys are joined by Celebrity Guest Host - MAXIMUS host of The Maximus Show, evenings on 103.9 The Bear from South Bend, Indiana - as they cover the costume contest.
Lastly, in segment 4 (aka the unnamed segment), Mike and Gary wrap up a full day on the follow and set the table for COIL Con IV - FEATURING STREET HAWK - coming up next!
It's a very laid back hour or so of on the floor reporting. Hope you enjoy it!
We would like to thank the promoters for including us in their inaugural show. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Editors note: one of the mic or mic cables seemed to be cutting in and out. Since it was a live event, there is very little ways to predict these even doing a sound check prior to recording. We'll get it squared away before our next live recording at COIL Con. We apologize in advance.
