Mike, Joe, and Mark give their impressions of the images released by Hasbro for the upcoming GI Joe: Classified COBRA Commander figure, and attempt to hash out the promotional sale on NTWRK which took place June 18.  (Hint: they come as close as anyone else did, but they get some stuff wrong - because they tend to make sense.

The gang welcomes former host Gary Godsoe back to the fold for a special one-night engagement!  Gary sings all his hits, including "Come On, Man," "Lockdown," "I'm Not Bitter," and more!  You've heard all the imitation Gary Godsoe shows, now hear the real thing -- for the first time on a regular WOJM episode in two years!

Fully recovered from the chaos of Virtual JoeCon 2020, the gang covers lots of comic news, plans a family vacation to Malaysia, and gets into the Postsac for a letter from "Crocodile" Joel.  Mike gives the rundown on the success of the Virtual JoeCon fundraiser, and Gary gives a grand farewell... until he guest-hosts again, anyway.

Thanks for joining in the fun!

We had a plan, we swear!

However, sometimes, it's better to let the course of conversation dictate the show, so as we battled through an evening of audio problems, Sunbow legends Bill "Flint" Ratner and Arthur "Destro" Burghardt reminisced about their time on GI Joe.  These are two old friends who hadn't had a chance to talk - sure, they've crossed paths here and there at shows, but hadn't been able to REALLY TALK -- in a long time, and we were thrilled that they shared a glimpse of their friendship with us.  Enjoy!

Studios!  Arune gets to the core of GI Joe fandom with Mike Irizarry, "The Honcho" Mark Weber, cosplayer extraordinaire Sara Detrick, and IDW G.I. Joe scribe Paul Allor, piecing together what makes their individual Skystrikers fly.  It's a fun discussion with a lot of heart!

On April 25, 2011, WOJM launched launched its first episode, and nine years later, we're still chugging along!  Mike, Joe, and Mark are on hand to spread the news during a curiously low-key anniversary fandango...

... that's actually the launch of the WHAT'S ON JOE MIND? VIRTUAL JOECON!

Starting today, we're throwing open the gates on the charitable part of the project - WOJM is raising money for World Central Kitchen, an organization that provides meals to first responders and displaced victims from all manner of tragedies that's been busting it double-time in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic!  We'll be collecting donations through May 10... let's team up and obliterate our $2000 goal!  Here's the link:

https://donate.wck.org/whatsonjoemind

Your donations are going STRAIGHT TO WCK!  You're not sending anything to WOJM.  If you're in a place where you can send a donation, please help us - and any number of first responders, displaced medical personnel, hungry would-be schoolchildren, or any number of folks who need a hot meal during these trying times!

THEN... VIRTUAL JOECON BEGINS!  From Monday, May 4, through Saturday, May 10, you'll be getting one star-studded panel per day!  Guests will include:

  • Paul Allor, writer on IDW's GI Joe
  • Sara Detrick, cosplayer extraordinaire
  • Terry Dizard, administrator of Yojoe.com
  • Curtis Herod, host of GI Joburg
  • Joe Holp, host of The File Card Podcast
  • Arune Singh, VP of Marketing for BOOM! Studios
  • Joe Slepski, host of Joe On Joe Podcast
  • PLUS Mike Irizarry, Joe Colton, "The Honcho" Mark Weber, and Rack Time Rob Irizarry!
  • PLUS members of the cast of Marvel/Sunbow's GI Joe: A Real American Hero!
  • PLUS Prizes, courtesy of Kokomo Toys and ROMA Collectibles!

It'll be a six-day event you won't want to miss!

As always, admission to The WOJM Virtual JoeCon is ABSOLUTELY FREE.

So let's get together, have some laughs, raise some funds for a great cause and do some good while we're all stuck inside!  STAY POSITIVE AND YO JOE!

Mike, Joe, and Mark give their impressions of the images released by Hasbro on March 27 of the upcoming GI Joe: Classified Destro.  Mark is officially welcomed into the fold as a full-time host of the show, which he was nice enough not to regret while recording.

Recorded on the evening of March 11, Mike, Joe, and guest host "The Honcho" Mark Weber got one last (unknowing) look at their world before everything started to shut down.  Please be smart during this pandemic - practice social distancing, wash your hands more often, and don't go out unless it's absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, the Honcho debuts the new "Lazy Bastard Corner" customizing segment, the gang gives their second impressions of the GI Joe: Classified line, and Joe has huge, life-altering news!  It's two hours you absolutely have time for!

Mike and Joe welcome former Hasbro marketing lead Mark Weber and YouTube's HCC788, Bryan Lower, to discuss the biggest story in G.I. Joe since the announcement of Snake-Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins... the upcoming release of a 1:12 scale action figure line!  We confirmed this news with three individual, independent sources, so if it's a put-on, it's a really big one.  Be sure to catch all the discussion in a truly loaded news segment!

Plus, Joe gets a rare second appearance from a would-be paramour from Losertown and the gang learns of her love of giraffe-patterned camouflage, as well as Mike's intense dislike of Mercer.  It's great to see G.I. Joe back in the news again

WOJM 119: Ease And Grace

2019 was a busy year for our little program, and we'd be remiss if we didn't send it off with a bang!  Mike, Joe, and guest host Mark Weber don't have a ton of news to talk about, but there's still lots of discussion and fun to be had with the holidays upon us.  In this episode, Mike and Mark teach Joe that lessons can be learned from Creepy Fanboy Messages Straight From Losertown, and Joe gets territorial in (Ryan Costello's) Postsac!  It's a multitude of mirth and massive merriment in the madcap #WOJM method!

Happy Holidays to everyone!!

With Joe prepping for Dragon Con and Carson lost to his workload, Mark Weber and Bobby Vala return to the WOJM compound to host the first episode with not one, but TWO former Hasbro heads-of-the-brand!  It's over three hours of GI Joe content as our intrepid crew sails the sea of Snake-Eyes movie news, IDW comic happenings, and Postsac letters!  This episode also takes a nostalgic turn as Mike talks about cast turnover and gives tribute to the end of a colleague's podcast, and Mark relives the best advice he ever got from his veterinarian.  Jerry Lewis may be gone, but your Labor Day weekend marathon is RIGHT HERE!

With Carson still away from the microphone due to his recent wedding, Mark Weber returns to hosting for the second consecutive regular episode!  In this episode, news about the upcoming G.I. Joe movie is discussed, Hasbro's struggles in finding a home for its animation studio are noted, the most recent flood of Postsac letters are cleared, and the gang teams up to give Bobby Vala's Action Force Kickstarter one last... well, kick.  Also, Mike struggles with pronunciation, Joe finds an issue with "Man's Best Friend," and Mark continues to hide from Tim Roberts!  It's equal parts madcap fun and honest-to-goodness GI Joe discussion in the Wonderful WOJM Way!

Former G.I. Joe brand head honcho Mark Weber rejoins Mike and Joe in the WOJM studio, and gives some insight to collecting in Bend, Oregon, in the 1980s.  (Suffice to say, rivalries - perhaps blood feuds? - were born, because there wasn't a whole lot to go around.)  To that end, enjoy Mark's tales of squaring off with the soon-to-be legendary Tim Roberts!

Plus, there's a slew of movie news and a full and hearty Postsac, complete with a call to action from YouTube's Cobra Commander 788!  Two more hours of madness, courtesy of WOJM!

And don't forget our brand new merchandise, available at What's On Joe Mall-

https://www.etsy.com/shop/WhatsOnJoeMall

With Joe and Carson MIA, we had to turn to reinforcements for November's episode. Even though there's not a lot of product right now, there's a whole lot in the news! Join Mike, and guest hosts Fred Meyer (of Just Another GI Joe Show) and Mark Weber (former head of the GI Joe brand at Hasbro) as they try to make sense of what's going on at Hasbro, review the GIJCC's last-ever offerings, and share stories of twenty-eight toed cats. Pack a lunch, this one checks in just under three hours!

ALSO: The recording got a little spotty at times after the first hour. It's mostly okay, but if you find a rough spot... SHUT UP ABOUT IT. 😉
